| This tester makes possible the rapid and accurate determination of live clay in systems employing Western or Southern Bentonite, or any combination of the two. The use of a simple preliminary solution produces comparable response from most Western and Southern Bentonites so that reliable and meaningful clay values can be determined. It can also be used on sands bonded with fire clay.
In addition to its application for system sands, it can also be used for the testing of incoming bentonite shipments and preblended materials. It is a simple test and no special training is required.
