NO. 512-A Rapid Sand Washer
For determining the percentage of AFS clay substance by scrubbing clay from sand grains, in accordance with the AFS fineness test. Five minutes of stirring are required. Beakers are marked for filling to the 6-inch (154 mm) level, so that the top 5 inches (127 mm) of suspension can be removed by syphon. Sand can be dried in the beakers to eliminate transfers.
